Drawing & Painting - Botanical Illustration & Decorative Florals

Visual of the course

Description

Focus on shaping your own creative direction within botanical-inspired art. You'll continue to explore observational studies alongside decorative projects, with opportunities to plan and develop more personal pieces such as a set of artworks based on a single plant or subject, a group of decorative floral designs you can use in different compositions, or pattern-based work. Demonstrations will provide inspiration, but the main emphasis is on guided independent projects that allow you to experiment, refine your techniques, and develop a stronger individual style. By the end of the course, you'll have a body of work that reflects your own artistic interests.

All classes will take place on site. There will be no additional off-site visit fees to pay for. However, leaners may be expected to pay for some extra materials such as acrylic paint. Learners should not need to spend more than £20.00 for materials, and the tutor will advise you during the first session of the course. Learners may wish to purchase flowers for the course to draw from.

Is there work between sessions?
In order to fully benefit from the course, it is advisable to practise the skills learnt between sessions. Usually the homework would be a continuation of a task that has been started in class.
